This was my submission for Ubisoft Toronto's NEXT 2025-2026 animation contest. The theme for this year's contest was "slip". My interpretation of "slip" was a man walking his dog when his attention is grabbed by someone else, and in an attempt to shoo off his jealous dog, he slips on his dog's toy ball.
I had a lot of fun working on this cute little animation! I learned a lot about comedic timing, camera positioning, and character expressions.
My finalized animation, and my first render! The final render is still a work in progress. I realized the composition of the shot featuring the girl character didn't flow correctly, so I flipped her scene in this finalized version.
The first layout for my animation. I learned a lot from this process as I pieced it together. I eventually changed the story around to read better, and have better comedic timing.
The first block out pass for my animation.
The first spline pass.
Final spline pass.
